CUTTING & CARVING PROCESS

Cutting and Carving of Metal

Our Working Methodology

Following the technology trends, we can now offer you top results with our band-new laser machine! We cut and carve metal products quickly and precisely, including double-curved or round surfaces. Marking and cutting can be done simultaneously - two-sided machining is also possible.

We are also able to cut large series inexpensively, and carving 3D reliefs is possible.

Examples of laser work:

  • rings, inside and outside
  • hallmark repairs
  • carving of e.g. photos and fingerprints
  • machining of hardened steel

However we are able to use manual process of cutting using our traditional methods in case the project doesn't need sophisticated technical specifications.

Note that we are using CNC cutting laser machine for producing wood objects and items.

MOUNTING & ASSEMBLY

Assembly Process

Three main Techniques

welding assembly techniques
Welding is a permanent assembly process obtained by localized melting of the metal of the parts to be assembled in the joint area.

There are three main methods for creating the heat needed for welding:

the oxyacetylene flame;

resistance to the passage of a current;

the electric arc.

Each method produces a bath of molten steel that must be protected from atmospheric contamination because the molten steel is likely to absorb the gases contained in the air which can make the weld porous and thus lead to problems mechanical and metallurgical. The method used to achieve this protection has a preponderant influence on the characteristics of the operating mode.

The oxyacetylene torch is rather used for the cutting of parts although today laser or plasma cutting processes are more and more common.

Resistance methods find application in spot welding of thin elements.

For welding assembly of steel structural elements, the most commonly used procedures are based on the electric arc.

SOFAME is applying these types of welds:

Butt welds;

Corner cords;

Plug welds;

Spot welds.

Stud welding intended to provide the connection between steel and concrete in mixed construction.
